Dr. Hilary Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University's Faculty of Education. She specializes in invitational and holistic teaching methodologies, using duoethnography as a transformative pedagogical tool. Her research focuses on teacher education reform, particularly in fostering culturally responsive educators through deep self-reflection and social justice frameworks. She received the 2017 Faculty of Education Award for Excellence in Teaching for her innovative curriculum development.
Her work emphasizes constructivist approaches to education, integrating arts-based methods like poetry to explore moral discourses and embodied learning.
