Matthew A Kraft

Dr. Matthew A. Kraft is a Professor of Education and Economics at Brown University, with affiliations at the National Bureau of Economic Research, IZA Institute of Labor Economics, and J-PAL North America. His research focuses on K-12 educator effectiveness and education systems' responses to climate change. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and secured $5.8M in grants, emphasizing teacher evaluation, tutoring scalability, and climate adaptation. Recipient of awards including the AERA Public Communication Award and the Palmer O. Johnson Memorial Award, Kraft also served as a Senior Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers (2024-25).
