His research focuses on complex knee injuries, particularly multiligament knee injuries, dislocations, and ACL reconstruction. Analysis of his recent publications reveals a consistent emphasis on improving classification systems for knee injuries, optimizing surgical techniques, and understanding factors affecting patient outcomes and reimbursement. His work demonstrates expertise in both arthroscopic and open surgical approaches.
Dr. Medvecky serves on the Connecticut State Medical Society's Committee on the Medical Aspects of Sports and has established an annual post-graduate medical education course for primary care physicians on evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical approach emphasizes listening to patients as the first step in diagnosis, believing 80-90% of diagnostic information comes from the patient's story.
He actively collaborates with other Yale Medicine Sports Medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists to promote ACL injury-prevention programs and enhance athletic safety for both youth and adult athletes.
