Elizabeth Gardner

Elizabeth Gardner is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Medicine within the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. As a dual-Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon, she specializes in Sports Medicine Surgery and Arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, and other joints.

• BA in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology from Yale University (2001)
• MD from Emory University School of Medicine (2007)
• Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at University of Michigan
• Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital

Her research focuses on ACL injury prevention, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and injury prevention in athletes. Recent publications examine biomechanics of sports injuries, telerehabilitation applications, and epidemiological patterns in orthopaedic trauma. She leads clinical programs for Yale University Athletics including the 2018 National Championship Men's Lacrosse team, and serves as medical director for the Southern Connecticut State University Masters in Athletic Training program.
