Dr. Michael Lynch is the W.H. Gardner, Jr. Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, with secondary appointments in Chemistry and the Duke Initiative for Science & Society. He focuses on genetically engineering microbes to shut off growth circuits and activate pathways for producing biofuels, pharmacological molecules, and industrial chemicals.
