Michael Liss

Dr. Michael Liss is a Clinical Professor and urology oncology physician at the Mays Cancer Center, affiliated with UT Health San Antonio. His research focuses on improving cancer detection through advanced imaging techniques, particularly in genitourinary cancers like prostate and kidney cancers. He led a pivotal study on RSI-MRI (Restriction Spectrum Imaging-Magnetic Resonance Imaging), published in The Journal of Urology (2023), which demonstrated enhanced biomarker analysis for aggressive prostate cancer. This work enrolled 123 patients between 2016 and 2019, emphasizing clinical applications for active surveillance.
