Dr. Michael Leung is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia (UWA) within the UWA Medical School's Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, bacterial pathogenesis, and infectious diseases, contributing to global Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
His work emphasizes clinical microbiology, particularly in areas like Staphylococcus aureus sepsis, Enterococcal infections, and diagnostic challenges such as the prozone phenomenon in cryptococcal assays.
