Kieran Mulroney

Kieran Mulroney is a Research Fellow affiliated with the UWA Medical School and the UWA Centre for Medical Research (affiliated with the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research). His work focuses on antimicrobial resistance, rapid diagnostic methods, and infectious disease management, particularly in peritoneal dialysis-associated infections.

Research Interests: Dr. Mulroney’s research combines flow cytometry, impedance-based testing, and machine learning to develop rapid diagnostic tools for bacterial infections and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling. His work addresses critical challenges in clinical microbiology, including antibiotic resistance and peritonitis pathogenesis.

• Principal Investigator in the AVENGE Study (2024–2025) advancing phage therapy with AI-driven pathogen evaluation.
• Lead researcher in PROJECT AFTERMATH (2021–2024), addressing post-pandemic antibiotic resistance.
• Recipient of the Forrest Research Foundation Prospect Fellowship (2021–2023).
