Michael Koetter

Michael Koetter is a Professor of Financial Economics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and Vice President/Head of the Financial Markets Department at the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH). He specializes in empirical research on financial institutions, banking regulation, and the interplay between financial systems and real economies. Koetter holds a PhD from Utrecht University and an MSc from Maastricht University. His work focuses on macroprudential policies, corporate investment dynamics, and the effects of regulatory frameworks on risk-taking and stability.
