Michael Khan served as Dean of the Faculty of Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor for nine years before transitioning to become Provost of Trent University. During his tenure, he led initiatives including the development of the Lancer Sport and Recreation Centre, a facility designed to integrate academic, athletic, and community functions.
Under Khan's leadership, the Master of Human Kinetics in Sport Management program achieved top rankings in Canada. He established international partnerships including a student exchange agreement with KU Leuven in Belgium and supported cricket programming development on campus.
Khan advocated for transforming student experiences through facility enhancements and community engagement initiatives. His administrative work focused on bridging academic programs with athletic infrastructure development.
