Michael Katzman

Dr. Michael Katzman is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at Penn State College of Medicine and Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. His research spanned two decades on retroviral integrase enzymes (HIV, avian sarcoma, visna virus), contributing to their purification, functional assays, and antiviral strategies. Later, his focus shifted to antimicrobial drug stewardship in healthcare settings, where he established a successful program in 2011.
