Dr. Kofi Clarke is the Graham H. Jeffries Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Penn State College of Medicine. He is a full-time gastroenterologist at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, and general gastroenterology. His clinical practice includes endoscopy procedures such as colonoscopy and video capsule endoscopy. He leads the Carlino Family IBD Center and directs the Celiac Clinic.
Dr. Clarke’s research focuses on novel therapies for IBD, clinical predictors of IBD complications, and quality-of-life outcomes in celiac disease patients. He has led multicenter trials for new IBD treatments and published extensively on topics like IBS-related cognitive impairment and Clostridioides difficile infections in IBD patients.
