Michael Joseph is an Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Department at Texas Tech University's College of Education. His research focuses on social studies education, preservice teacher development, and critical examinations of race and media in educational contexts.

- M.A. in Teaching of Social Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University (2011-2012)
- B.A. in History from The University of Texas at Austin (2006-2010)
Dr. Joseph's research explores how educators navigate critical historical inquiry and develop pedagogical practices for teaching challenging social topics. His work examines emotional dimensions of teaching, media representations in curriculum, and strategies for addressing racial narratives in classrooms. Recent publications investigate the use of Disney films as teaching tools and the integration of arts in social studies education.
His scholarship demonstrates consistent focus on improving teacher preparation through case studies of classroom practices, analysis of racial representation in educational media, and development of frameworks for teaching marginalized histories.
