Michael Jaffe is an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York School of Law, where he teaches Lawyering Seminar courses and previously instructed Mortgage Law. He has extensive legal practice experience, specializing in litigation against corporations for securities fraud, antitrust violations, consumer fraud, and employee benefits disputes. Currently affiliated with Giskan Solotaroff & Anderson LLP, he focuses on civil rights, consumer fraud, and employment discrimination cases. Formerly a partner at Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP, he has argued landmark cases such as Apple v. Pepper (2019) before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Education: Summa cum laude graduate in Political Science and Philosophy from UC Berkeley (with a President’s Undergraduate Fellowship for research in France on antisemitism). Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law.
Research interests emphasize legal advocacy, corporate accountability, and civil rights. His pro bono work includes political asylum cases and mentoring in NYC schools. He balances academic contributions with high-stakes litigation, reflecting a commitment to both legal education and public interest law.
