Michael J. Haslip is an Associate Professor and Director of the McNichol Early Childhood Education Lab in the School of Education at Drexel University. He holds a PhD in Early Childhood Education from Old Dominion University, with additional degrees in International Development Studies and Teaching. His research focuses on social-emotional development, teacher professional growth, and sustainability education in early childhood contexts.
Dr. Haslip's research examines character education, altruism development, and spirituality in secular educational settings through mixed-methods approaches. His work integrates positive psychology frameworks with practical classroom applications, particularly exploring how educators model virtues and resolve workplace challenges. Recent projects investigate project-based learning for sustainability education and workforce development in early childhood systems.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on educator practices, child development outcomes, and systemic educational improvements.
