Michael J. Geary

Prof. Michael J. Geary is a Professor of Modern History and Jean Monnet Chair in the History of European Integration at NTNU's Faculty of Humanities. He holds a Ph.D. from the European University Institute and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. His research focuses on European integration, Irish diplomatic history, transatlantic relations, and the Cold War. Geary has held prestigious fellowships at institutions like the Woodrow Wilson Center and the College of Europe. He currently supervises Ph.D. theses on British-South African relations and EU crisis management. Recognized for teaching excellence, he also leads NTNU's European Studies programs.
