Michael J. Curran

Michael J. Curran is an Associate Professor of Business at the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK), part of the Humanities and Professional Studies school. He holds a doctoral degree in Information Systems and Communication from Robert Morris University, an MBA from Chatham University, and a Bachelor's in History from Slippery Rock University.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Curran has taught at institutions including Robert Morris University, Strayer University (16 years), DeVry University, and Pittsburgh Technical Institute. Notably, he was named a Distinguished Professor of Business at Strayer University. His research focuses on technology's impact on communication in higher education, informed by his extensive practical experience as an entrepreneur and business owner.

Curran has owned multiple businesses, including 10 ice cream shops, a property management company, and a business liquidation company. His teaching integrates real-world business challenges with academic theory.

In his personal time, he engages in community theater, research, and writing. He currently teaches economics and other business subjects at UMFK.
