Michael J. Britt serves as Director of Percussion and Instructor of Music at Southern Arkansas University since 2003. He oversees the percussion program, including applied percussion instruction, directing the SAU Drum Line and Percussion Ensemble, and teaches percussion methods. His role includes growing the program which has tripled in size under his leadership.

Research interests focus on percussion performance pedagogy and public school music education. He actively arranges percussion works and adjudicates across the southern U.S., maintaining performance roles with regional orchestras and solo ensembles. Clinical work includes state percussion days and jazz festivals in multiple states.
Professional memberships: Percussive Arts Society, College Music Society, Music Educators National Conference, Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association.
