Mickey Sarah is an Instructor of Music, Assistant Director of SAU Bands, and Department Chair of Performing Arts & Mass Communication at Southern Arkansas University. She leads the Concert Band, woodwind ensembles, and supports the marching band. Her roles include administrative leadership in the Dempsey College of Liberal & Performing Arts.
Education: B.M.E. from University of Central Arkansas and M.M.E. from University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Research interests focus on music education, ensemble performance, and instrumental music instruction. Her professional achievements include a 1998 superior rating for her band at Louisiana District I Festival. She actively participates in music education organizations and oversees student organizations like Tau Beta Sigma.
Notable roles include principal clarinetist in UCA’s Wind Ensemble and teaching across K-12 and university levels. She coordinates band programs and facilities through the SAU Band office (Harton Theatre 200A).
