Michael J Mello is a Professor of Medical Science, Health Services, Policy and Practice, and Emergency Medicine at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School. Board-certified in emergency medicine with over 30 years of clinical experience, he directs the Injury Prevention Center at Rhode Island Hospital and leads the NIGMS-funded Injury Control Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE). His research focuses on behavioral change interventions to reduce injury recidivism in emergency departments, with leadership roles in national organizations like SAVIR and the Injury Free Coalition for Kids.
