Dr. Georgina Lau is a Research Fellow at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, affiliated with the Pre-hospital, Emergency and Trauma Research Unit. Her work focuses on preventing injury events linked to alcohol and other drugs through multidisciplinary collaboration. She chairs the Alcohol and Other Drugs Subcommittee of the Australasian Injury Prevention Network and has held roles in committees like the Addiction Policy Advisory Committee.
Research interests include alcohol/drug use in trauma patients, injury prevention strategies, and public health interventions. Her systematic reviews and registry-based studies explore topics like blood alcohol testing protocols, substance use in violence-related injuries, and adolescent trauma patterns. Key publications include contributions to Drug and Alcohol Review, Injury, and Trauma, Violence & Abuse.
