Michael Horner serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages at McNeese State University's College of Liberal Arts, concurrently directing the MFA Creative Writing Program.
His academic credentials include a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, complemented by an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) and MA in English Literature from McNeese State University.
Horner's scholarly focus centers on Creative Writing and Fiction with emphasis on 20th Century and Contemporary Literature; he teaches Graduate/Undergraduate Fiction Workshops, Introduction to Literature, Advanced Composition, and specialized courses in literary theory and period studies, while authoring the novel 'Damage Control: Public Relations for the Perfectly Fine Family'.
As MFA Program Director, he oversees curriculum development and mentorship for graduate creative writers, maintaining active engagement in both foundational composition instruction and advanced literary analysis across undergraduate and graduate levels.
