Michael Robins serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages within McNeese State University's College of Liberal Arts, where he teaches creative writing and literature courses while editing The McNeese Review.
He earned a BA in English from the University of Oregon and an MFA in Creative Writing from UMass Amherst.
Robins specializes in contemporary poetry with emphasis on experimental American verse, evidenced by five published collections including The Bright Invisible (2022). His work explores lyrical innovation and modern poetic traditions, appearing in American Poetry Review, New England Review, and Poetry magazine.
As editor of The McNeese Review, he actively shapes literary discourse by publishing emerging and established writers, bridging academic scholarship with creative practice.
