Michael Herfert

Michael Herfert serves as a Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt within the Faculty of Business, Logistics and Transport, affiliated with the Institute for Production, Transport, Handling and Storage. He holds multiple institutional roles including Member of the Faculty Council, Alumni representative for Traffic and Transport, and Deputy Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Traffic and Transport.

His research and teaching expertise centers on Logistics, Transport Engineering, and Material Flow Simulation, with significant contributions to Supply Chain Management and Industrial Engineering. He develops curriculum and instruction in material flow analysis, system modeling, simulation techniques, and work system design using standardized methodologies like MTM modules.

Actively engaged in student mentorship, Herfert provides academic guidance for degree programs including Sustainable Mobility and Logistics (B.Eng.), Railway Engineering (B.Eng.), and Material Flow and Logistics (M.Eng.). He conducts regular office hours and participates in StudyTalk events to support prospective and current students through application processes and academic planning.
