Michael Helfand is a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School and holds the Brenden Mann Foundation Chair in Law and Religion at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. He also serves as Co-Director of the Nootbaar Institute on Law, Religion, and Ethics. His academic focus centers on the intersection of U.S. law with religious practices, including religious arbitration, contracts, and torts. Helfand previously practiced complex commercial litigation at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and clerked for Judge Julia Smith Gibbons of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
