معرفی
Dr. Michael Healy is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at the University of Queensland's Institute for Molecular Bioscience. His research focuses on structural biology, protein design, and membrane trafficking, with expertise in techniques like X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, and computational methods (e.g., AlphaFold2). He has made significant contributions to understanding the Commander complex's role in endosomal recycling and its link to Ritscher-Schinzel syndrome. His work integrates computational predictions with experimental validation to develop novel biologics targeting membrane trafficking pathways.
He holds a PhD in Protein Trafficking from the University of Queensland (2021). His research interests include designing functional proteins, elucidating membrane trafficking mechanisms, and developing molecular tools for biological interrogation. He has secured NHMRC funding and published extensively in high-impact journals like Cell and Science Advances.
- Awards: NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow
- Grants: NHMRC-funded projects on protein homeostasis in Alzheimer's disease and APP trafficking.
- Supervision: Available for PhD supervision.
His labs focus on structural and functional studies of membrane trafficking complexes, with applications in disease modeling and therapeutic development. Collaborative projects include protein design for biologics and cryo-EM-based structural biology.
