Michael Fein is a MECA Instructor at VanderCook College of Music, where he teaches music technology electives and jazz. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education (Rutgers University) with a Jazz Concentration and a Master's in Jazz Saxophone Performance (Rowan University under Denis DiBlasio). His performance career includes collaborations with jazz legends like Ralph Peterson and Ray Charles, as well as theater and rock groups.
Currently, he also teaches Jazz Lab Band at Haverford High School, doubling its student enrollment through innovative digital audio programs. As an adjunct at Swarthmore University, he mentors jazz saxophonists. His publications in Music Education Technology Magazine and Sound Tree focus on integrating technology into music education. He presents at national conferences such as the National Education Computing Conference and Music Player Live Summit.
His work emphasizes modern pedagogical techniques blending traditional jazz performance with digital tools, reshaping music education accessibility and engagement.
