Michael Evan Goodsite

Michael Evan Goodsite is a Professor and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Operations and Commercialisation) at the University of Adelaide, leading strategic initiatives in research infrastructure and commercialisation. He concurrently serves as Managing Director of ICP Pty Ltd and holds executive oversight in Energy, Sustainability, and Defence-related research. Previously, he led Schools (CEME & ASP), directed research institutes (IMER & ISER), and founded the Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources. His career spans academia, public service, and military leadership, including roles as Director of US Army Cyber Counterintelligence and Chief Operating Officer for Denmark's Southern Region. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern Denmark, PhD in Climate & Environment from the University of Copenhagen, and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Research Focus: Leads teams developing sustainability frameworks for energy systems prioritization, with emphasis on green hydrogen, deep-seabed mining ethics, and Arctic infrastructure resilience. His work integrates environmental efficiency assessments, policy analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Awards & Roles: Fellow of Engineers Australia and IUPAC, member of SA Health Human Research Ethics Committee, and advisor to the SA Hydrogen Hub. Appointed to over 20 national/international committees, including the Danish Energy Technology Programme and NATO workshops on green defence technology.

Grants & Leadership: Bid sponsor for successful Copper For Tomorrow and Scaling Green Hydrogen CRC projects. Spearheaded the HiLT CRC and commercialization framework for ECMS Faculty. Active in mentoring women through the UoA ALLY Network's mentorship program.

Labs & Initiatives: Directs the Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources and ISRU initiatives. Co-leads UoA-UniSA amalgamation efforts and chairs committees like the Mortlock Trust and SA Future Drought Fund Advisory.
