Michael Doxtater is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Development Studies at Queen's University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. He holds cross appointments in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Cultural Studies at the School of Graduate Studies. His work focuses on Indigenous Knowledge recovery, mediation, and organizational development, with extensive experience in grassroots community organizing at the Six Nations of the Grand River.

Research interests include mediation practices in Indigenous contexts, policy frameworks for educational institutions on Six Nations territory, and sociocultural issues affecting Indigenous communities. He has collaborated with organizations like Ohsweken Facilitator, SEARCH conferences, and Six Nations Polytechnic. His work bridges academic scholarship with community-driven initiatives, including documentary production and broadcast dramas.
Affiliations include the Society for Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR), Action Learning Action Research Association (ALARA), and the Grand River Justice Circle. He has designed Indigenous language teacher training programs for Ontario’s education system and contributed to policy reviews for Six Nations Polytechnic under the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
