Dr. Michael DeSousa is a faculty member at Kennesaw State University's College of the Arts, Department of Music, serving as a Professor and educator. He is an internationally recognized trombonist and performer across diverse musical genres.

Dr. DeSousa's research and artistic practice focuses on brass instrument performance, jazz, and orchestral collaboration. His career includes extensive touring and recording projects, such as the 80th Anniversary of the Army Air Force Band (2024) and solo album Points of Departure (2022).
As an educator, he conducts masterclasses, maintains an active teaching studio, and trains students from middle school to collegiate levels in music performance.
