Dr. Michael J. Day is Associate Professor in Higher Education Learning and Teaching at the University of Greenwich, providing leadership in Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). With a PhD from the University of Southampton and 15 years as a QTS-qualified teacher, his career includes senior educational leadership positions in UK and Asian institutions.
Day's research examines educational technology, equity in higher education, and human rights pedagogy. His international experience includes roles as Head of Department at Payap University (Thailand), Visiting Scholar at Mahidol University's Institute for Human Rights and Peace Studies, and Assistant Professor at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China.
Recognized for his contributions, Day was made Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in 2022 and Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA) in 2021. He mentors early-career researchers in Myanmar and advises on academic skills projects in Thailand, demonstrating commitment to educational development in conflict-affected regions. His professional activities include serving as Associate Editor for Springer Nature's Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (SSCI Q2 journal) during 2021-2022.
