Michael Copenhaver

Michael Copenhaver is Professor of Health Promotion at University of Connecticut's Department of Allied Health Sciences and Principal Investigator at the Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP). His NIH-funded research develops evidence-based HIV prevention strategies for high-risk populations.

Research expertise includes:

• Bio-behavioral HIV interventions
• Opioid addiction treatment integration
• Cognitive adaptations for substance users
• Community-based implementation science

Recent publications examine PrEP utilization in drug-using populations, harm reduction approaches during the fentanyl crisis, and neurocognitive barriers to treatment.
