Michael Christopher Antle is a Professor in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary, affiliated with the Department of Psychology and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. He also holds an Adjunct Professor position in the Cumming School of Medicine, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. His research focuses on the mammalian circadian system, particularly the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), molecular clocks, and the role of neurotransmitters in behavioral regulation.
- Doctor of Philosophy (2001), Master of Arts (1998), and Bachelor of Science (1994) in Psychology from Simon Fraser University and Dalhousie University.
- Supervises students in the Psychology Graduate Program and contributes to undergraduate education in the Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience program.
- Teaches courses such as PSYC 477 (Sleep and Biological Rhythms) and PSYC 478 (Behavioural Neuroscience).
His research examines how cell types in the circadian clock are organized, their functional roles, and the molecular effects of neurotransmitters. He was awarded the Undergraduate Research Supervision Award in 2009.
