Current roles include Director of Research at the Aberystwyth Business School and Director of the Centre for Responsible Societies (CRiSis).
Christie's research spans marine and terrestrial ecosystems, with recent projects in Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, and other developing nations. Awarded the 2022 Aberystwyth University Award for Exceptional Research Impact in Social Sciences, Christie's work has influenced global biodiversity policy and IPBES initiatives. He collaborates internationally, leading workshops on science-policy interfaces and serving on editorial and review panels for funding bodies like the Swiss National Science Foundation and ESRC.
