Dr. Michael Bozlar is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, affiliated with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering within the College of Engineering. He holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from École Normale Supérieure (2009) and an MS from University of Strasbourg (2006). His research focuses on nanomaterials synthesis, multiscale characterization, environmental engineering, and bioengineering. He leads the Bozlar Nanoscience Lab, exploring applications in polymer composites, energy storage, and water harvesting. Recognized with awards for teaching and student supervision, he actively contributes to interdisciplinary research in materials science.
Education: PhD, École Normale Supérieure (2009); MS, University of Strasbourg (2006).
Research interests include nanomaterials for energy and the environment, 3D printing of polymers, and bioengineering applications. His work addresses challenges in sustainable materials, climate adaptation, and healthcare through innovative nanotechnology solutions.
Awards include the College of Engineering Teaching Award (2023) and Excellence in Student Supervising (2021). He teaches courses such as Materials Science (MAE 3324) and Polymer Science (MAE 5349), fostering student research through undergraduate and graduate programs. His lab collaborates internationally, recently presenting at the 2024 American Society for Composites conference.
