Michael Bisio is a Bass Instructor at Bennington College since 2009 and a prominent figure in the New York City creative music community. He is a core member of the Matthew Shipp Trio and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Joe McPhee, Wayne Horvitz, and Vinny Golia.
His career includes over 30 years of contributions to jazz and experimental music, with notable releases like In Seattle (1980s), Session at 475 Kent (2010), and multiple duo projects with Matthew Shipp and Joe McPhee. He has received a 2003 Artist Trust Fellowship and nine project grants from arts organizations.
