Michael Appleman

Michael Appleman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He serves as Director of the Health Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (HEAL) learning community and the Education Research Focus Area (RFA), and co-directs the Accelerated Family Medicine Track (AFMT). His work emphasizes rural and underserved healthcare, medical education pedagogy, and student-centered learning communities. Dr. Appleman holds a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Akron and is pursuing a PhD in Cultural Foundations at Kent State University.
