Stacey Gardner-Buckshaw is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and a Graduate Faculty Member in the College of Graduate Studies. She serves as Director of Community Engagement and previously managed the HRSA Primary Care Training and Enhancement Grant, focusing on community-academic partnerships to address health disparities in underserved Ohio regions.
Her educational background includes:
- B.A. in Neuroscience & Psychology from Muskingum College (2002)
- M.P.A. in Public Administration from The University of Akron (2003)
- Ph.D. in Urban Studies & Public Affairs from The University of Akron (2007)
Dr. Gardner-Buckshaw's research centers on alleviating challenges from limited education and resource access impacting community health, with projects targeting the "quadruple aim" in medical education through population health initiatives and medication-assisted treatment training for primary care providers in high-need areas. Her work bridges urban studies, public administration, and clinical practice to reduce health inequities.
Scholarly output demonstrates consistent focus on primary care implementation science and community-engaged medical education, with recent presentations addressing opioid use disorder treatment integration, provider wellness, and quadruple aim frameworks across medical education stages.
