Michèle Sutter

Michèle Sutter is an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Control and Governance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), affiliated with the ILE-HSG. Her expertise spans corporate governance, board dynamics, audit committees, and ESG reporting. She holds a Dr. oec. HSG (summa cum laude) and has held visiting professorships at WU Vienna, Tsinghua University, and SDA Bocconi. Her teaching spans bachelor, master, and doctoral levels, including courses on corporate governance frameworks, board essentials, and international auditing.

Her research focuses on board governance structures, risk management systems, and internal control mechanisms. She leads the Network for Innovative Corporate Governance (NICG) in collaboration with Swiss Re and serves on multiple corporate boards, including Helsana AG, Graubündner Kantonalbank, and BlueOrchard AG. Proficient in German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish, she bridges academic and practical governance challenges.

Her professional career includes roles at Ernst & Young and Privatbank Ihag AG, complemented by hospitality management experience. She actively contributes to executive education programs and maintains a presence on the Alexandria Research Platform for publications.
