Mette Søgaard is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aalborg University Hospital, within the Faculty of Medicine. She is affiliated with the Danish Center for Health Services Research. Her research focuses on thrombosis, hemostasis, and anticoagulant therapy, particularly in contexts such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and end-of-life care. She has published extensively on topics like cohort studies analyzing bleeding risks and thromboembolic events in patient populations.
Her work includes studies on anticoagulant discontinuation in life-limiting diseases, adherence to antiplatelet therapy in peripheral arterial disease, and decision-making around antithrombotic therapies in advanced cancer.
