Prof. Dr. Meryem Beklioğlu Yerli is a leading aquatic ecologist at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Biology, where she directs the Limnology Laboratory. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic activities on freshwater ecosystems, particularly lakes in Turkey such as Eymir, Mogan, and Beyşehir. She employs long-term monitoring, paleoecology, mesocosm experiments, and interdisciplinary approaches to understand complex ecosystem interactions.
