معرفی
Sabine Hilt is a Research Group Leader at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), Berlin, leading the 'Aquatic-Terrestrial Coupling and Regime Shifts' research group. Her work focuses on macrophyte dynamics, lake eutrophication, and climate change impacts on freshwater ecosystems. She has authored/co-authored numerous publications on regime shifts, stressor interactions, and ecological restoration strategies. Key projects include CLIMSHIFT (stressor impacts on shallow lakes) and MADMACS (macrophyte management consequences). Her research integrates field studies, mesocosm experiments, and modeling to address pressing environmental challenges.
- Research Themes: Submerged macrophytes, lake eutrophication feedbacks, climate change effects, invasive species impacts.
- Key Projects: AQUALINK (aquatic boundaries), TERRALAC (terrestrial-aquatic linkages), DIVATOX (cyanobacteria neurotoxins).
- Collaborations: International networks on lake management, biodiversity conservation, and global change ecology.
Recent work highlights interactions between agricultural runoff, warming, and invasive species. She advises on ecosystem restoration and policy, emphasizing the role of macrophytes in carbon sequestration and water quality.
