Merve ÇEBİ is a part-time academic staff member at Uşkudar Üniversitesi's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Psychology (English). She holds a PhD in Advanced Neurological Sciences from Istanbul University and has been actively involved in academic activities since 2015. Currently serving as Head of the Psychology (English) Department since 2022, she also coordinates student advising and participates in institutional commissions.
Her educational background includes a Psychology degree from Boğaziçi University (2009), MSc in Neuroscience from Istanbul University (2012), and a PhD in Advanced Neurological Sciences (2018). Research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases, EEG biomarkers, and aging-related cognitive changes. She has conducted international collaborations including an Erasmus internship at Maastricht University.
Key research contributions include studies on Alzheimer's disease diagnostic tools, opioid use disorder neurophysiology, and EEG-based classification methods. Her work bridges clinical neuroscience with computational approaches, evidenced by 21+ documents and an h-index of 11.
Recipient of the prestigious 2023 ECNS Young Investigator Award for EEG biomarker research. Active in professional communities, presenting at international conferences such as Alzheimer's Congresses and EEG societies. Engaged in academic governance through roles in quality and education commissions.
