Barış Metin is a Professor at Üsküdar University's Psychology Department, specializing in neuroscience, neuroimaging, and mental disorders. He holds an MD from Istanbul University's Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty (2004) and a PhD in Psychology from Ghent University (2013). His career includes postdoctoral research at Ghent University and leadership roles at Üsküdar University’s Research & Development Unit (PARGE) and Technology Transfer Office.
His research focuses on ADHD, neuroimaging techniques, and machine learning applications in diagnosing mental disorders. He teaches cognitive psychology and advises on project development, intellectual property, and entrepreneurship. Key contributions include EEG-based biomarker identification for depression, bipolar disorder, and OCD. He received the Young Investigator Award (ECNS, 2018).
Metin’s 150+ publications span EEG analysis, neuroimaging meta-analyses, and AI-driven diagnostics. He leads projects like MEDGPT (AI in healthcare) and Neuroscience20 initiatives. His work bridges clinical neuroscience and technological innovation, emphasizing ethical AI in mental health.
