Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Educationمعرفی
Merete Moe is a Professor in the Department of Pedagogy at Diakonova University College, where she has held her position since 2021. Her primary work area focuses on pedagogy with specialization in leadership within early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings, including supervision of master's theses and partnership development with teacher training kindergartens.
Her educational qualifications include:
- Preschool Teacher (1977)
- Master in Pedagogy (2005)
- PhD (2014)
- Higher Education Pedagogy Qualification (UH-ped, 2016)
Professor Moe explores leadership through poststructuralist theory, particularly Deleuze & Guattari's concepts of striated and smooth spaces, to analyze affective leadership dynamics in complex ECEC environments. Her research investigates dialogue as a health-promoting factor in organizations, co-creation strategies for enhancing teacher education relevance, and 'golden moments' in learning organizations. Methodologically, she employs qualitative inquiry and theoretical transplantation to examine subjectivity constructions, diffraction apparatuses, and polyphonic embodied self within educational contexts.
She currently leads four major research projects:
- The flat structure of kindergartens? Authority in kindergarten management in the meeting between present and past
- Improving relevance in early childhood teacher education through co-creation based partnership
- How are co-created learning processes practiced and managed in partnerships between teacher education and kindergartens?
- Educating leaders for a world not-yet-seen
Prior completed projects include multiple iterations of 'Kindergarten Management in Motion' and 'Kindergarten takeover for leadership education to our not-before-seen world'.
Professor Moe actively disseminates her work through scientific lectures addressing:
- Leadership in Motion series (Close leadership, Supporting leadership, Research affects)
- Diffraction apparatuses and leadership vibrations
- Polyphonic embodied self and chronotopes
- Governmentality in ECEC health politics
- Dialogic relations in healthy organizations
- Co-creation for improving teacher education relevance
She supervises master's students in Human Resources, Management and Quality Development (PLK) programs and research fellows through paper discussion groups, emphasizing meta-communication and experimental learning in teamwork. Her work extends to the Scandinavian 'Post approaches to education' network for philosophical conversations on Deleuze & Guattari, and she has delivered popular science lectures like 'Deleuze, Guattari – Neither Bird nor Fish'.
