Meredith Minear is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wyoming. She leads the Spatial Cognition Lab, focusing on spatial cognition, individual differences in cognitive abilities, and their implications for STEM education. Her research integrates immersive virtual reality (HTC Vive) and EEG/ERP methodologies to explore neural correlates of spatial reasoning and cognitive plasticity.
- Ph.D., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2004)
- B.S., University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (1994)
Her research investigates how spatial ability predicts STEM performance, the impact of GIS-based learning on spatial skills, and the intersection of working memory, fluid intelligence, and impulsiveness. She collaborates with math and engineering faculty to enhance cognitive remediation strategies and educational technologies.
Dr. Minear teaches courses in Biological Psychology (PSYC 2080), Physiological Psychology (PSYC 4080), and Neuropsychology of Human Behavior (PSYC 5120). The University of Wyoming, an R1 research university, provides access to the Center for 3D Visualization and WyGISC for her interdisciplinary work.
