Jean-Philippe Van Dijck is a lecturer-researcher at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences since 2016 and a guest professor at Ghent University's Department of Experimental Psychology. He holds a PhD in psychology titled 'The cognitive mechanisms of spatial-numerical associations.' His roles include teaching General Psychology, Research Methods, and Neuropsychology, alongside research in cognitive mechanisms, numerical cognition, and mathematical abilities.
Research focuses on cognitive skills, mathematical proficiency, and spatial cognition, with applications to educational diagnostics. He co-leads the PWO project 'Pole Position for Mathematics' and is co-promoter on the FWO-INTER project exploring spatial-numerical associations and mathematical abilities. His neuropsychological work addresses premorbid intelligence assessment, contributing to the 'Intellectual Status Questionnaire' standardization project (PWO).
