Dr Meredith Martyn is a Clinical Trials Statistician at King’s College London, affiliated with the King’s Clinical Trials Unit. She holds a Researcher role in the Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics, part of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. Previously, she was an Associate Lecturer at UCL, teaching statistics and data science in epidemiology and public health. Her expertise includes clinical trial methodology, phase II trial design, and mental health research.
Education: PhD in Medical Statistics (UCL), MSc Epidemiology (Imperial College London), BSc Mathematics & Economics (University of Liverpool). Awards include UCL’s 3 Minute Thesis Competition (2019) and national shortlisting for the same competition.
Research focuses on mental health clinical trials, cancer trial methodologies, and regression models. She leads the Mental Health & Neuroscience Clinical Trial Statistics Group, which designs and conducts trials. Notable projects include ADVANCE-D, a trial addressing intimate partner violence through digital interventions.
Public engagement includes writing for the National Centre for Research Methods, blogs at King’s, and speaking at venues like Nerd Night London and MathsJam UK. Her work emphasizes rigorous statistical approaches in longitudinal data science and trial design.
