Mercedes Bunz is Professor of Digital Culture & Society at King's College London's Department of Digital Humanities. She is a leading scholar in the intersection of technology, culture, and power, co-founding the Creative AI Lab with the Serpentine Gallery. Her research critiques how digital technologies reshape knowledge systems and governance. Bunz holds the AHRC BRAID Fellowship (2024) and is a Digital Futures Institute Fellow (2025).
Research affiliations include Terra Critica, the Centre for Digital Culture, and the Computational Humanities Research Group. She explores AI ethics, data solidarity, and participatory infrastructure through interdisciplinary collaborations.
