Her research focuses on individual differences in eating behavior, obesity, and impulsivity, with a particular emphasis on leveraging mobile technology to enhance self-control over eating. She explores how time perspective influences food-related decisions and health behaviors, as well as sustainable eating practices and climate change mitigation strategies like air pollution reduction. Dr. Price collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including co-creating digital stories to engage disadvantaged communities and examining vaccination behavior. She is actively involved in postgraduate supervision, mentoring students in topics such as air quality literature, sustainable food consumption, and psychopathic traits. Her work is supported by grants from the Food Consortium CTP and Swansea University’s research initiatives.
Research Interests: Dr. Price’s expertise spans eating behavior, obesity mechanisms, impulsivity, self-control interventions, mobile health app development, and sustainability. She investigates behavioral change strategies to address public health challenges like overeating and environmental degradation. Her recent projects include analyzing UK Biobank data on dietary variety and portion size, developing mobile apps for healthy eating, and exploring social media’s impact on body image.
Teaching: Dr. Price teaches modules such as ‘PS-M005: Addiction, Compulsivity, and Eating Disorders’ and ‘PS-M20: Eating Disorders,’ focusing on theoretical frameworks, risk factors, and clinical approaches. She also contributes to foundational courses like ‘PSA100: Academic Skills and Research Methods’ to build students’ statistical and ethical research competencies.
Grants & Supervision: She supervises PhD candidates researching air quality, sustainable food systems, and psychopathic traits. Her grants include a Food Consortium CTP scholarship for energy density studies and collaborations on vaccination behavior projects. Dr. Price’s lab and interdisciplinary teams at Swansea University drive applied research to bridge behavioral science and public health policy.
